Lincoln Spends 52nd Birthday In The Queen City In 1861
President-Elect Makes Stop in Cincinnati On Way To Washington
February 12, 1861.
On the cusp of Civil War, President-elect Abraham Lincoln stopped in Cincinnati on his way to Washington, D.C., which just so happened to fall on Lincoln’s 52nd day of birth.
Abraham Lincoln arrived at the Cincinnati-Indianapolis Depot (aka Cincinnati-Hamilton-Dayton Depot) just after 3pm on 2/12/1861 and was paraded through the city, stopping at the Burnet House.
